Oh no. You’ve gone and done it. You did the unthinkable. You shared someone’s sold listing! The earth is going to split in two and swallow you whole, or even worse, your whole Poshmark career is over, you’ll lose all your followers and your account will be SHUT DOWN!!!
Calm down! Nothing is going to happen to you.
If you are one of those people who get offended that people share your sold items, or feel the need to block/ scold someone for doing so, you are doing yourself an incredible disservice. Not only have you blocked someone who has made an effort to market your items for you, you’ve alienated yourself enough to hinder you from others helping you and making future sales. Take note that nothing happens to those items that are shared, they don’t ruin the order of your listings in your closet, nothing happens except you get more exposure, sometimes even better exposure. That’s right, it is 100% STILL for your benefit if someone shares your sold listings!
Huh? WHAT?! HOW?!?!?!
Let me explain: For those of you who have items that are in your closet that have been sold and someone else has shared them, THIS IS A GOOD THING!! This is what I like to call the limited edition tactic. Know of Kylie Cosmetics? She has made quite a demand for her lipkits, not by always having a running supply of lipglosses, but because there is only a limited supply of her products. Even right now, if you click on that link, you’ll probably see all the items are sold out. If you ask me, I would rather people share all my items that sold, it creates more of a frenzie. Now people become more motivated to see all the cute stuff you sold and creates the “I want it because no one else can have it” mentallity.
Happen to sell those Tory Burch Reva Flats for $20? Guess what! I sure as hell am going to look through your closet to find out if you have another pair at the same price. There is a supply and demand for getting good deals, and I know if you sold the item to one person at a good price you’re more likely to have more deals like that in your closet. People will go into your closet to see if you have more, or even better, buy something else that looks good. I have had numerous sales stem from people looking at my listings of items that were already sold, and ended up buying something else instead, trust me it works.
What do you get from this? HITS ON YOUR CLOSET!!! Not only are you getting more looks, shares, likes, but you’re also getting sales as well. How many times, have you, your friends, family, gone into Target for 1 thing and came out with a whole cart full of stuff you didn’t even want in the first place? You know what’s up! These are the kind of strategies that you need to bring to your closet to get those items sold!
So next time someone shares your sold listings, embrace it, appreciate it, and thank them for their support. Sharing is caring in anyway shape or form, sold or unsold!
