How To Get A Host Pick On Poshmark

If you’re new to the app and you don’t know already on HOW to actually get one of these awesome Host Picks here’s a small guide to getting one of your coveted items recognized throughout the app.

So here’s some information to get you started:

Host Picks are chosen by a ‘Host’ of a particular party, and as of late, they are now having midday parties as well. Originally they were only hosting parties in the evening, but I believe to counter balance the time zones, they opened it up to the afternoon parties as well (PMHQ if you’re reading this, please correct me if I am wrong).

Once a ‘Host’ selects your item, it goes into the Host Picks Feed and you will see your item shared in a special category where people are looking to see what items have been featured. What’s great about it is that it gets national exposure, and I like to say that some of the items that I chose to be featured as a host pick, ended up getting sold THAT night! So you’re odds of selling items are much greater. Not only that but it will also be featured in users normal feeds. Now I don’t know the exact extent of how many users it actually reaches, but if you get a Host Pick, it’s gets seen to more than just your followers¬†(also see how to get more followers). So being a host and being able to have that power to showcase a posher’s item is pretty cool.

So how do I get one of these amazing Host Picks you say?

Getting selected for a Host Pick in a poshmark party
Getting selected for a Host Pick gets your listing LOTS of attention

Easily. There’s only one of 2 ways you can actually get one:

  1. You ask nicely. Sometimes as Host, you get berated hours before the actual party takes place asking, sometimes even people begging for you to select their piece as a Host Pick.Listen ladies (and gents), I get it, you want your stuff to sell. But constantly tagging a host on every single one of your items is annoying, so be nice and keep it to a limit. Also please do not tell a host to “look through your closet for a host pick”. We get like a hundred of those requests, and we don’t have time to peruse every single one of your closets, so if you say that consider you request to be most likely ignored.
  2. You actually get noticed. If you share your own items, or share others, the marketing for your times multiplies 6 fold. So make sure you are sharing your items and others, so your listings¬†actually get noticed. It’s important you do this on a regular basis in order for your listings to get featured multiple times.

Pro tip: Try to keep, your 10 best items that you want shared on the top of your profile. Also if you share your item 20x in a row it devalues your listing to act as through it’s like spam.

Hope this helps you all, and I hope you all practice proper etiquette when trying to get a Host Pick. If you know of any other ways to get a Host Pick, please be sure to put it down in the comments below!
