Expanding into New Territories on Poshmark

Whoa!! Sorry this posted prematurely, so apologies if this didn’t make sense to some of you, I took notes on my blog post and it accidentally posted it. Please forgive me!

Back to our regularly schedule program!

Men’s and kids are starting to pour in by the boat load so this is the time to start making your mark on those platforms! John McDonald of Team Posh lead the discussion on how to streamline your way into the new facets that they’ve been rolling out as of late!

Here are some notes I took from this year’s PoshFest 2016 on expanding to not just men’s & kids but to way more!

Poshfest 2016 – Program

 

Timing rate: there’s a timing rate for your business. Have your sales start to flatten out? Kids and men’s are certainly opportunities of expansion. Competition is hard in women’s, so moving into men’s, kids, beauty, or even the newly maternity, the competition is much slimmer.

Fit with your current business: are your customers really looking for it? Are people looking for kids? Start looking into feedback from your customers and see what people are saying to you. Would you be willing to sell to your current customer base, or do you want to start a new following for the new business? These are excellent questions to be asking yourself before jumping into a new platform.

Am I ready to commit: it will take a bit and things will need to move along. It will take even a few months to build your following. Growth may be uncomfortable, so will it be difficult transition.

If you’re looking to start selling men’s, just know that men’s items are selling slightly higher than women!

In conclusion…

Introducing new products are great, but will take the public some time to get used to and build that following. I think it’s a great time to start, because the payoff will be nice in the end. Stock your closets will all the good stuff listed up above because that’s what people are buying now.
