What is Re-Listing and Why You’re Missing Out

I posted up on my Instagram as of late and I sent out a feeler to see what people are currently doing in the market. Are the people making the big 130 sales a weekend #TeamReList or #TeamSharing? This set off a slew of answers from all different poshers from all around. I tagged who I could, to see what these people are doing to make these epic sales all the time and this is what I found.

What is Re-Listing an Item on Poshmark?

Re-Listing is exactly what it sounds like. You take an item or listing you’ve already posted and you make a duplicate listing or delete the first and re-list it. I find it’s easier to make a duplicate first and then delete the previous one. But if you have a lot of likes on the first one, you may want to keep it in the event you do a price drop. But you do whatever you want.

So the majority of these big sellers are #TeamRe-List why? Because there’s way more coverage on your listings when you re-list your item. I said this awhile ago on a post but didn’t get much traction because the idea was more foreign. Before it talked about analytics but this is now way bigger than analytics, this is front page marketing for your listings.

But how?! How? Well I thought you’d never ask!

Do you remember when Poshmark changed their interface?

At the top of everyone’s Poshmark feed the default screen when you first log on to Poshmark you see a pretty bar of photos. Do you know what that is? Those are NEW listings of a brand you’ve searched. Now let me clarify that not everyone’s feed is going to be J. Crew. But because I’ve searched for items in that brand, Poshmark has uniquely set up my feed to show me items I may be interested because I’ve searched that brand. That’s goes for any brand that anyone has searched or followed.

What does this mean oh wise one?

This means that anyone that’s ever searched for that brand, if they’re on the app at the time that you re-list it, THAT IS FRONT PAGE MARKETING right there for you!! You’ve got it pinpointed to the very people that are the likeliest to buy from you. Once you’ve got the interested buyer then it’s practically sold itself!

This method isn’t bulletproof. Let me just make it clear. This is not a fool proof plan. This is just telling you that your chances of making a sale are more likely but it doesn’t guarantee the sale. I like to think about it like this: you’re basically fishing for a sale. You want to cast your line out to a school a fish because you are more likely to get a bite, right? Right. But if you cast a line out and there aren’t any fish, then you’re more likely than not gonna come out empty handed.

So what do I do to increase my chances?

There are a lot of variables that go along with actually getting a sale. I’ve already written a ton for you to look up. Updating your cover shot, filling your inventory with higher searched & selling brands, pricing at reasonable prices, and if none of those work, then try listing at times when people are more likely to be on the app.

    1. Telltale signs are to see what the brand parties are. Those will help distinguish what brands are selling and are most searched.

  1. Hi! I was wondering if you think posh parties actually do anything/ increase sales? Also, I was looking on your posh and I noticed your things haven’t been updated in a little while and I was wondering how often you share?
