Want to know what’s going on in my closet? Check out my weekly wrap up of how it’s really going on!

My Week in Sales

So this week was the week of getting my jetlag back in control and getting all the items that I sold whilst on vaycay out to their respective new homes. This week I sold approximately $300 in sales this week (gross not net). So I need to go on vacation more often!

A few things that I’ve done more this week that kind of helped with my sales, was added more items into my closet. For some reason it’s really helped with me with moving inventory out and getting sold. I keep telling myself that, “if it’s not listed, no one will buy it” and it’s so true. Things that I’ve kept in my “inventory” for probably a good year but have not taken the time to list has just sat there and accumulated more and more debt. At this point, I have already paid the cost off on all my items so everything at this point that sells is pretty much profit. I know in business terms that’s not necessarily how it works, but it’s been really helpful in renewing my faith in Poshmark and this whole business that I am crazy enough to keep up with.

Sold these Celine Cat Eye sunglasses this week!

I’ve noticed a lot of my friends on Poshmark are starting to move a lot of their designer goods to Tradesy. I mean I would too, but I think it has something to do with the address that I moved to that caused my account to close. For some reason as soon as my address changed on Tradesy I’ve had nothing but trouble, so I think the previous renters ruined my accounts for me. I have no idea. I think when it comes to selling your luxury designer goods, Tradesy has been known to give sellers the best deal on their goods, and they tend to sell much faster. I’ve sold a few items pretty quick through there up until my account closure. As for the here and now, I sold my Celine Cat eye sunglasses that I listed less than a month ago on Poshmark so it all depends on who is looking for it. I’ve also listed pretty much all my bags, and given my closet a new makeover. Goodbye chevrons! I’ve moved on to a more mature look and it’s been paying off so far.

Took new pics of my bags and listed on Poshmark.

Before I go, I wanted to talk a bit more about Japan. I have a post talking about my review of Tokyo but I felt that this piece of info was more worthy of sharing again. For those of you who are thinking about going to Japan and plan on doing some shopping, Japan is very well known to have amazing second hand goods. LIKE BALLER STATUS. There’s a department store that is called Komehyo that is pretty much like a luxury high end Poshmark. They don’t sell shit hand me downs here ladies! Everything is in excellent condition and all used but all luxury brands, in pretty much everything. Jewelry, Watches, Shoes, Clothing, and most importantly, handbags. Dior? Gucci? Celine? YSL? CHANEL? Yes they have it all! All authentic, and perfect for the taking.

How do I know they are authentic? Because it’s a standard that any luxury goods that are being sold secondhand in Japan MUST be authentic. The Japanese are very strict on this because they want it to reflect the integrity of goods coming from there. I found vintage CHANEL for $300. Not lying 100% true. Do I have your attention now?! Yeah, pretty freakin’ crazy. Saw another CHANEL large le boy bag for $1700. So with that said, who’s up for a girls trip? LOL

Have you been to Japan? What deals did you find? How has your week been?

My Week In Sales

So this week my husband and I are charming it up in the city of Tokyo for our first wedding anniversary. We made a pact to spend our anniversary in a new country so it just so happened that Japan kinda worked it way into this week.

Just as a short trail off: Japan is fucking cool! If you have a time in your life to go to Japan just do it for a dip into a new culture! You’ll love it!

So this week was much shorter than others because since I was on vacation I wasn’t able to do my normal routine of sharing my closet or others. I purchased the incredibly over priced wifi onboard and shared what I could, so that if I made a sale or a few sales, that would offset the cost and I’d be on Reddit half the time wasting my life away on /r/Poshmark or listing more items at a discounted price. I keep telling myself that if its not listed, it’ll never get seen, and that was the sole motivating factor that got me to take pictures of everything that was left in my inventory before I left. I’ve still got a bit more to go, but it’s still going!

I have no idea why, but the universe aligns itself in a way that EVERY SINGLE TIME I go on vacation/out of town/business trip I always make a ton of sales. Don’t know what it is, but that’s what happens. It’s a blessing and a curse really. But I prepared this time, I made up a vacation listing on my page and anyone who purchased something or made an offer I tagged them in it and made sure they were aware of the late shipping. If anyone from Poshmark is reading this, please add in a vacation feature! I would hate to be on a 2 week vacation and set the delayed shipping that the buyer agrees to and then have them cancel the order after 7 days. The re-listing is such a pain in the ass, and building it back up again! Ugh! Gives me the shivers I tell you!

Other than that, having T-Mobile abroad is the shit since data roaming is freeeeeeeeeeeeeee. So I got to take care of a lot of business while being on another continent.

How has your week gone? Let me know in the comments below!

My Week In Sales

Good morning all!

I feel like I should keep a diary entry of my weeks so far of just how I’ve been doing lately with my sales and Poshmark etc. it’ll keep me updating at least weekly and give you all some insight as to how things are going on our end out here.

As of the last few months or so January – March I’ve been hitting quite the lull lately. My sales weren’t doing too hot even during the holiday season. My average for sales were probably one every 2-3 weeks which I didn’t mind entirely because I’ve been focusing a lot on travel lately. So making a sale was a bit of an annoyance. I feel guilty, but it’s been a goal of mine as of late.

Just covering the past few weeks as a whole I decided to make it a personal goal of mine to take pictures of EVERYTHING in my inventory. Then using the listing system that I normally do, I uploaded them into my phone and then started listing them one by one. I was going to do this all at once on my trip to Beijing, but since my documentation paperwork didn’t come through, my 13 hour flight listing party didn’t actually happen. But I spent several mornings and evenings pasted to my phone getting all 81 listings up in my closet (and that was just the pants!).

I decided to reinvent myself and shed the chevron pattern background and opted for a more mature look. Having my husband help me list was like I was shooting my product on speed (metaphorically speaking). We had an awesome routine going and we were able to pump out a lot of clothing. But I’ve made a smarter approach to my cover shots and used my trusty Sony A6000 to get those super clear and vivid looking shots that attracts buyers. IMHO (In My Honest Opinion) I feel like, if people are looking/ shopping for clothes on the app, they’re looking at cell phone pictures all day. They’re gonna notice a nice clear pic and they tend to gravitate towards them.

So in about a week, I’ve made about 10 sales. Not bad, just an extra $200-$300. Just by changing up my cover shots! Nice light, very simple pictures of the product, and no background. I did do some editing of the pics after I transferred them into my phone and used just the regular iPhoto editor to brighten up the photo, (cuz you know, bitches love bright photos!) and that really made a difference in their appearance.

I’ve been receiving a lot of low offers as of late, which was starting to bug me, so I decided to combat that by pricing high! People have been so bothered by my high prices, if they only knew how low people offer, they’d understand. I’m sure you feel the same, we’re all victims! Lol

I also decided to try out Tradesy for some of my items, and sold 2, but for some reason got kicked out and blocked. I have no idea why, but they never explained to me the reason. I mean I don’t mind, I don’t really use them anyway, but to be blocked and kicked off without telling my why?! I’ve been having issues with them on my first 2 sales with the shipping and I had to call them each time to get my funds or tracking updated and that was it for me. Plus they withheld my earnings from me and it took me a week to get someone to respond to me! Imagine! So I’m all done with them!

On the sharing front, I’ve been putting a lot more emphasis on sharing my own closet since I have so much more to sell. But I’ve shared my feed a few times and gotten some amazing responses, so make it a habit to share your feed, you connect with so many more people and open yourself up to getting your stuff shared by so many different people and not just people in your share groups!

Other than that, I’ve just been buying thank you cards and making more of an effort to making my packages stand out and adding more stuff to it. The One Spot at Target has helped on that front, plus I have a lot of giveaways from NYFW that I need to just give away so you may see some pretty cool stuff in your packages this week!
