Make sure to put your closet down below so I can check it out!
Lucky you! Not many people know these but after trying some things out I’ve managed to find the *BEST* ways to get your items seen and sold on Poshmark. I’d like to share with you all some of my sharing strategies and skills that can get your stuff seen and sold! I mean, I don’t expect you’re here for shits and giggles, you wanna know how to sell more and make billionz! If you don’t know what sharing is, please read this first before and then catch on up here.
Well I can’t get you to billionaire status, but I can get you on your way. So read on!
Well first and foremost, let’s go with my daily routine:
- Wake up.
- Share my own closet.
- Share feed.
- Share Feed on lunch.
- Share Feed after work.
- List an item.
- Share before bed.
FYI this may seem like a lot, but it really isn’t, and this is an IDEAL day, not what I practice on a daily. Ultimately you want to share (overall) about 30 mins a day.
Where and what I share is also very very important. As much as I love just sharing my one item I want to sell over and over again, be careful when doing that because the system may mark it as spam and it lowers the value of the listing. So take a peek into what I do to help you increase your sales and your value as a member of the Poshmark community!
- I share my own closet.
This is one of the mostly asked questions that I get. How do you share your own closet? Easily, I share each item I have in my closet to ‘my followers’. It’s a lot, but you gotta do it! Sharing your own closet is another sense of marketing for yourself. It’s best to do so in the morning but you shouldn’t do it more than just a few times a day.
- I share my feed
Sharing your feed exposes you to new and sometimes fresh items from your followers and from people you follow. Plus you have a chance to look at items that you probably wouldn’t see in your network of friends.
- I share past parties
- I am not part of a share group or share parties.
This is one of the best things that I do. I share from some of the old parties. Why? Because here is a huge network of people that aren’t necessarily in my network… that ultimately I want part of my network. Think about it, everyone shares to parties, or shares some of their followers, followers, followers stuff to parties. I WANT to connect with them. I want them to look into my closet and check things out if they’ve never seen my stuff. Branch out, and sharing from parties is one of the best ways to reach people you haven’t met before!
The reason I am not part of share groups is that having a share group doesn’t give you as much reach as you need to get your closet out there. Imagine if you were in a rock band, and you wanted to make it big, and you sang to an audience of the same 50 people…everyday. You’re not gonna get very far. So diversify your efforts and try breaking out of the bubble of share groups. On the other hand, share groups are a fun way to get to know other people, but to me there’s just a lot of pressure to keep up with the demands sometimes and I prefer a more casual experience.
- Share likeminded brands
Ok so this one is a 2 part. If I can remember to do this, I share my items that are of a certain brand so that they appear at the top of my closet. Then I go into that brand and start sharing some of the items at the top. When items appear at the top, it means that the user is active and on the app, hence why they are sharing their own item. In turn if you share their items, they share your items. Typically if they like that brand, they are more inclined to purchase items of that brand, so when they are looking at the items to share there’s more of a *possibility* of them purchasing.
So there you have it MY sharing techniques. Try these out if you wanna, it beats just sharing your feed or just the same people in your follow groups.
Happy to help, please make sure that you put your closet below in the comments so that I can check out your closet! Like and Share if you can!
Today for all of those of you who don’t know, today is Poshmark’s 5th birthday! Poshmark has decided to celebrate it’s birthday with you and several of their outstanding community members all across the country and on the app. If you are available today to go out and celebrate at one of their live posh parties click here to check out the list of parties that are hosted by some of your very own PFF’s.
Since I had some unexpected business that I had to attend here in Atlanta I will be attending the party in Atlanta Georgia today, while my trusty cohosts will be hosting the Swaggalicious party in Detroit Michigan.
On top of the party that I will be attending in Atlanta, and the party that I have been promoting in Detroit Michigan, I will also be my co-hosting today’s #PoshLoveFest Style Crush Party on the app! The party will start at 9 PM EST/6 PM PST and you know what that means! Make sure to tag me in all of the items that you want to be shared, the great thing about today’s event/party is at Poshmark wants to hold a record of 10 million shares within the day. So tag me on as many items as you want, I will be sharing like crazy, and there will be no limit to how many shares I’m allowed to produce for the party, so I’m going to host pick it up!
If any of you are going to be attending the live posh parties in your area, please do! I know it’s very difficult to plan a live Poshmark meet up, it takes a lot of time, and this is a great chance for you to meet some of your BFF, and get some tips from some of the pros! Not to mention each host has been sent a box full of goodies from PMHQ to hand out to all who attend! Some of the goodies are really great additions to your Posh packages, so hopefully it will encourage you to attend one of these wonderful events.
Once again, Happy Birthday Poshmark!! I’m one of the many so happy for your success and the amazing growth of the community. I’ve made some of my best friendships just from this app, gained more confidence in my abilities as a small business owner, and I’m so stoked to be going along on the adventure with you! Happy Poshing all!
Reader Amy asked if I can do a post on what we should wear to PoshFest 2016. Ask and you shall receive! If you’re like me and flying into Los Angeles for this year’s annual Poshmark PoshFest gathering you’re probably berating your brain with the age old question: WHAT DO I WEAR?!
I’m going to throwdown the lowdown on some Do’s and Don’ts to help your little butt out so that you can pack care free and have all the essentials, as well as some stylish outfits prepped and ready to go!
For those of you who have been to PoshFest before you kinda have a good idea as to what is in store for the days ahead. But if this is your first time, I would check out the agenda here just so you know what you’ll be getting into.
Day 0 – Poshmark Pre-party, Friday September 30
This will be an evening attire event, so plan to dress like you would at a swanky bar. So no ball gowns, PJ’s or bathing suits required at this event. This is a time that you’ll be on your feet a lot through the evening, so plan your footwear accordingly. Also, this is the night before the event the next morning so don’t plan on partying too hard! What to wear: party outfit, sparkle, stylish, heels/wedges, make-up, hair, the whole nine!
Day 1 – PoshFest Saturday Morning October 1
This day will start off as a social hour, lots of meet and greets, exploring the area, and then a TON of panels. They’re usually pretty back to back and you’ll be sitting most of the time before we break out into workshops. I am under the impression that the venue has climate control so bring a light jacket just in case. What to wear: business casual with a panache of style! I would recommend wedges rather than heels, or super cute flats!
Day 1 (cont.) – Saturday Evening PoshFest Party
So remember this isn’t prom. Still no ball gowns at this event but I would like to think of the ambience more as a New Years Eve party. You will be dancing, you will (possibly) have some appetizers to munch on, and drinks to consume. Also there will be photos! So dress to impress, so you can party hard! What NOT to wear: flip flops, swim suit, winter clothing, costumes, and active wear.
Day 2 – Poshfest Sunday October 2
So if you aren’t terribly hung over (like I was at the first PoshFest in Vegas…don’t judge me, everyone was! Lol) this would be a good day to wear a comfortable outfit of your choice. There will be some finishing remarks and some long lasting goodbyes before everyone parts ways, but t-shirt, jeans, booties are pretty common on the last day, but really you can wear any nice outfit. Just don’t come with vomit in your hair, or look like a hot mess from the night before.
I hope this helps you ladies pick out your outfits for PoshFest before you jet set out to sunny Los Angeles! On another note, if you happen to not check the weather, Los Angeles is in the triple digits, so it is hot hot hot. Don’t think if you’re from the East Coast that since the weather is starting to tone down, that your blanket scarf, pumpkin spice havin’ ass, fall attire is gonna work here. Nuh uh! It is hot and dry, so keep that in mind.
Also- don’t think that you have to get decked out in all super designer attire and that everyone is a freakin’ Victoria Secret supermodel at the event. No- we’re just normal women & men who love to sell fashion, all different shapes and sizes. Just think you’re going to a convention of all small business owners. So rock your own style, come and meet some new friends, and if you’re scared, come find me, I’ll hang with you! It’ll be fun, we will have a blast! If you’re still pretty curious, then check out the video I made of POSHFEST 2014 RECAP below:
