What Are The Best Times To Do What on Poshmark? Well there is a sweet spot for everything, from listing to sharing, even shopping! So what are the best times to do anything?
Ever have someone ask you to model something on you Poshmark listing but you’re running short on hands to take the photo? They this instead: take a VIDEO of yourself modeling an item. Play it back, and when you are at a good frame, pause the video and take a quick screenshot of the item! No S.O needed, or friends! You can do this completely by yourself, or with your cats. Just make sure they don’t knock your phone over while you’re trying to video yourself! Good luck!
Summary: Sold $800 on Poshmark for the month already and it’s only Nov 10th, here’s how I did it.
First off, sorry for those of you who were saddened by the election results this week. It came to a shock to a vast majority of people including myself. But whatever, we are all one country and we change, we move on, and it’s time to focus on moving forwards and making those sales we got Christmas people!
It’s been a bitchin’ time for Poshmark sales because this is the time when sales pick up like crazy! I’ve been hitting some MAJOR MAJOR breakthroughs that I would like to share with you because I officially broke $800 and it’s only the second week of the month!
At Poshfest, there was a workshop called Poshmark Power Users. Which were led by the two very talented ladies: Lyn McLaughlin Cromar and Jessica Craddock who manage their own Poshmark Facebook Support Groups. They suggested some tricks to boost up some sales and I am happy to report that they do work!
After some major thrifting this past week, I have gone out on business and during my downtime to some pretty good thrift shops around the country and happy to report that the majority of my finds have brought in enough sales that they have already paid themselves off!
One of the key things they mentioned, in addition to sharing, and to following…was LISTING!!! For me and my new inventory, I have made it a rule that I am NOT allowed to shop for my inventory, until everything that I previously purchased has been listed. Makes for a happy home! My husband starts seeing things go out the door instead of piled high in my office. His anxiety has gone down, and merch is starting to circulate! YASS!!
One of their big suggestions was to list DAILY. Yes daily! I highly highly recommend it, because really it generates revenue for you, obviously, because if you don’t list it, it can’t be sold. But they mentioned that the constant activity in your closet will trigger the analytics of your account to increase your sales. So listing anything, they mentioned a pic of your dog, will help keep that constant activity, which will increase the likelihood of sales. NOW… I personally have no proof of this, it obviously would be in the coding somewhere, which I don’t have access to and wouldn’t know how to read anyway. But what I can give you is my own personal experience.
Have I sold more sales using this method? Short answer: yes.
Have I listed everyday? Yes.
Have I put up listings of my dog? Sadly, no.
I have double listed items in my closet on days where I didn’t have anything to list, which is something they mentioned to try to do as well and it works! I also have changed up how I list things. I stick with the white background that I have mentioned for cover shots, so that is what I have transitioned into since the chevron days!
I do think you should try it out, you may increase your sales, but for me, it’s going real well. This shouldn’t however deter you from following and sharing other closets as well as your own, this should be in addition to what you already do. Remember to limit your activity to peak times and you should be all good!

So this week my husband and I are charming it up in the city of Tokyo for our first wedding anniversary. We made a pact to spend our anniversary in a new country so it just so happened that Japan kinda worked it way into this week.
Just as a short trail off: Japan is fucking cool! If you have a time in your life to go to Japan just do it for a dip into a new culture! You’ll love it!
So this week was much shorter than others because since I was on vacation I wasn’t able to do my normal routine of sharing my closet or others. I purchased the incredibly over priced wifi onboard and shared what I could, so that if I made a sale or a few sales, that would offset the cost and I’d be on Reddit half the time wasting my life away on /r/Poshmark or listing more items at a discounted price. I keep telling myself that if its not listed, it’ll never get seen, and that was the sole motivating factor that got me to take pictures of everything that was left in my inventory before I left. I’ve still got a bit more to go, but it’s still going!
I have no idea why, but the universe aligns itself in a way that EVERY SINGLE TIME I go on vacation/out of town/business trip I always make a ton of sales. Don’t know what it is, but that’s what happens. It’s a blessing and a curse really. But I prepared this time, I made up a vacation listing on my page and anyone who purchased something or made an offer I tagged them in it and made sure they were aware of the late shipping. If anyone from Poshmark is reading this, please add in a vacation feature! I would hate to be on a 2 week vacation and set the delayed shipping that the buyer agrees to and then have them cancel the order after 7 days. The re-listing is such a pain in the ass, and building it back up again! Ugh! Gives me the shivers I tell you!
Other than that, having T-Mobile abroad is the shit since data roaming is freeeeeeeeeeeeeee. So I got to take care of a lot of business while being on another continent.

So if you’re a pro or a newbie, there are different perceptions when it comes to listing. For those that are new, its kind of a new experience for most of us once we start out. You’re really excited, and you start dressing things up, take a few pics and upload your new listing, then voilà! You get your first sale!!! All of a sudden, you get the bug and you’re immediately addicted. You dart to your closet and take pics of EVERYTHING you can sell, old shoes, new shirts, ANYTHING you can get your hands on…then it sets in after the 10th listing. Yes you all know what I’m talking about! The: “I have 2 whole piles of clothes more to go, this is exhausting!”
Yes, we’ve all been there, especially if Poshmark is your business and you buy to sell. It’s so much easier to shop and buy, than it is to ‘list’ the actual item. So let me throw some harsh facts your way first so that you can take these tips and create your own method of listing.
- Poshmark is a mobile platform, so the only way (for now) to list an item is through your mobile device. Sorry guys but until Poshmark releases a new update where you can list on your desktop computer we’re stayin on our smart devices until then.
- Photos are usually taken on your mobile device since its on a mobile platform. Unless you want to throw in an extra step or two you can take pictures on an external device and upload them to your phone.
- You get 4 pictures per listing. I’ve heard that Poshmark will be updating it soon to add more pictures but it’ll stay 4 for now.
- You have to add a description and details to each listing.
- Each listing needs to be done one at a time, there’s no way to submit multiple listings at once.
So having these rules and restrictions makes way for you to get a little creative, so to speak. For myself I’ve been one to make things easier for me rather than harder. I’ve made a sure fire way to get all your listings done with the best quality, but also with the most efficiency. Now just remember that my way may not work for everyone, but you can always try it out and see how it works for you!
Let’s get started!
1) Start by setting your stage.
What I mean by that is that you must always get your area ready. I like to list my items in categories. All the shoes at once, all the bags at once, and all the clothes that are on hangers at once. All items that are to be staged in the same way do them all together, it will save you tons of time switching back and fourth for every different piece of clothing (it will also save your back too!). This is the time to dress up your area, bring in the light, get your background ready so that once you set your area, you’re ready to rock and roll.
2) Take all your photos all at once.
This is where you can just fly. Once you’ve got your lighting and all your props and designs in order, you can just add the item in and just snap away. This is a great time to add hints to yourself later on when you’re listing the item. What I mean by that is when you are taking pictures, make sure to take pictures off all the details that may help you when you’re listing the item later on. When taking pictures of jeans, I like to take a picture of the tape measure at them bottom of the inseam so that I can add it in the description later, same with heels. Also take pictures of the size tag and damage if there is any.
As you can see by my photos, they are of amazing quality, this you cannot get on the iphone yet but I do take photos on my Sony A6000. NOW- this was a gift from my wonderful husband but this fancy camera also has amazing features where I can download the photos from my camera directly to my iphone via wifi. This is the only extra step that I have to take when I am doing this process to get this type of covershot/ hero shot for my listings. If you want to do that, this is up to you, however this is not required, you can take your photos on your smartphone in lieu of this.
3) Edit/ Crop/ Collage photos all at once.
Once you’re all done with your photos, then it’s time to put away your inventory, nicely and neatly then take a look at all the gold you just produced. This is one of my favorite parts of the listing because I can sit down on the couch and just edit all the content. If a photo needs to be highlighted or I need to add a filter, I can do so there on my phone sitting down and relaxing next to a cozy fire! I do this all on my phone so that they’re ready to go once I am ready to list and upload them.
4) Upload from your bed!
This is my happy place! My warm cuddly bed, where it’s quiet and I can just list in the comfort of my PJ’s. This is also the perfect thing to do in your downtime, list a few items at a time, there’s no rush. I never want to feel like this stage is daunting! So I make sure that I do this last part where I am most comfortable. I can get about 20 items in before I am ready to pass out. Then I can do another 20 the next day, but this also saves the time for you rushing to get 10 listings in at best doing them one at a time, then losing the sunlight, or even having to bend up and down to take pictures over and over again. That way all your pictures are done, editing is done, and uploading is at your leisure!
By using this method, and breaking up all the different segments it makes it much easier to get this done and not have to feel like listing your whole closet is the worst thing in the world, especially when you have bags and bags full of stuff that you need to list. TRUST ME I’VE BEEN THERE!!! lol
